Student Community Service Opportunities

Rutgers offers a variety of community service initiatives, enabling students to develop a sense of social responsibility while giving back to our local communities.

  • Scarlet Day of Service: This collaborative program within Student Affairs provides opportunities for students volunteer at various locations throughout New Brunswick and the surrounding communities of Piscataway, East Brunswick, Edison, and Somerset. Over 200 students volunteer for this annual event each year.
  • Winter Wishes: Winter Wishes gives New Brunswick pre-school children gifts for the holiday season. Students, faculty, and staff adopt a child's wish to purchase a gift for him or her. Gifts are presented at the annual Winter Wishes Party for the children and their families.
