RU Ready

Created by the Eagleton Institute of Politics in 2007, RU Ready engages the students of New Brunswick High School and other area schools in the political process. RU Ready’s mission is to provide young people with encouragement and practical advice to enable them to participate actively in the civic life of their community. Rutgers students involved in RU Ready play a central role in bringing the lessons of the program to high school students. In addition to in-class workshops, RU Ready holds a day-long "Young Leaders Conference" at the Eagleton Institute for a selection of high school students. The conference furthers the lessons presented in the classroom, connects students to local leaders, and points young people in the direction of future political engagement.
