Programs for the Community

Rutgers in the Community

On campus and off, Rutgers is working to build a stronger relationship with New Brunswick, Piscataway, and the surrounding community. Along the way, we hope to become a better partner for our neighbors. A first step is making sure that everyone—from residents to students, faculty, and staff—has access to Rutgers’ community offerings.

So we’ve created a directory of Rutgers programs for the community for your convenience. Here you can learn about dozens of events, programs, and services that bring Rutgers’ resources into the community. Residents can connect with university offerings, from swim lessons for kids to expert advice for small business owners. For Rutgers students, it’s a great place to start searching for volunteer and service-learning opportunities. And faculty and staff can use the directory to explore colleagues’ programs—or to share their own. Read more about community engagement at Rutgers.

Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching recently recognized Rutgers–New Brunswick for its commitment to community engagement.
