About Strategic Events and Programs
Strategic Events and Programs serves as a link between Rutgers and the external community. It helps local residents and organizations connect to the university's many resources by matching community needs with university expertise and service.
What We Do
Our team manages events, programs, and resources for area residents and groups, including:
- Campus & Community, a monthly e-newsletter featuring university and New Brunswick area events and happenings
- Filming and photography permits for external media and production companies
- Good Neighbor Welcome, a program that raises awareness of local ordinances and "good neighbor" practices among off-campus students via a door-to-door campaign and printed guide
- Programs for the Community, a website directory of Rutgers programs and services for the local community
- Project Move Out, an initiative to recover discarded furniture, appliances, and textiles to keep them out of landfills during student move out days
- Rutgers Day, a universitywide open house that showcases the university’s research, teaching, and service through fun and engaging activities for people of all ages
- Rutgers Speakers Bureau, an online database and service that connects Rutgers experts to New Jersey community and professional organizations for speaking engagements
- Senior Citizen Audit Program, through which retired New Jersey residents, age 62 or older, can attend courses on a space-available, noncredit basis, at no tuition cost
